About the project
When theatres closed, Compagnia Artemis Danza, led by choreographer Monica Casadei, took its shows outside: to squares, archaeological sites and monuments in Italy and Spain. “A piedi nudi” (“Barefoot”) follows that tour day by day, from the end of the first wave of Covid until theatres fully reopened, with the travelling, the rehearsals and the fears and hopes of its dancers.
It is an international co-production between the Italian company WellSee and Polarys, written by Elena Costa and directed by Jessica Giaconi and Ricardo Villalba. It was filmed in Rimini, Ravenna, the Scala dei Turchi and the Valley of the Temples in Agrigento, Bologna, Parma and Rome, and in Spain in Valencia and Morella. It was supported by the Italian Ministry of Culture, opened in cinemas in May 2024 and is now available on Amazon Prime Video.
It is one of the projects in our documentaries and corporate video area: research, script, shooting and post-production with our own crew in Spain and Italy. There is more on our blog.
